According to some veterinary studies, around 20% of dogs and 15% of cats show signs of stress or anxiety at some point in their lives. Animal well-being has become a concerning topic in our ultra-connected and stressed lives. Our animals are so close to us that they absorb both our pollution and our stress. At Espace mom, many of you are already using our mom devices (pendant, cube, etc) for your animals. Today, we have decided to take action by designing a solution perfectly adapted to their well-being, the Ani’mom energetic collar. It’s an opportunity to address the issue of harmful invisible influences and seek advice on how to better protect our faithful companions from an expert, Géraldine, who has been breeding Munster Spaniels and Bernese Mountain Dogs for over 30 years and is also an Education Adviser.

Stress and animals: a strong impact yet often overlooked

A survey of veterinarians in the United States revealed that nearly 45% of visits to the vet for cats are related to behavioral problems, including stress. For dogs, this figure is around 20%. Furthermore, around 10% of dogs may receive medication for behavior problems related to stress. Where does this stress come from and why is it affecting our pets more and more? “Dogs, for example, with their sense of smell 35 times more powerful than ours,” points out Géraldine, the breeder, “can not only smell odors but also pick up on our stress, worries, and discomfort.” Our animals have superpowers, they are “sponges” as described by the Education Adviser. Therefore, it is essential to consider the environment in which they evolve. The effects of electromagnetic waves have already been studied by the ANSES. The conclusions are as follows: exposure to electromagnetic waves can induce biological effects in humans and animals, affecting aspects such as sleep, male fertility in animals, and cognitive performance. Some research has suggested that high levels of exposure to electromagnetic waves can lead to changes in animal behavior and physiology, such as increased oxidative stress and changes in heart rate.

How to prevent and reduce stress in our animals?

Géraldine, the breeder and dog education adviser, reassures us, “If the animal lives in a healthy environment, has been taught the right rules, and most importantly, if the owner is happy, not stressed, not worried, there is no reason for the animal to be stressed or absorb emotional overload.” As responsible guardians, it is our duty to create healthier environments for our four-legged friends. This involves understanding the potential sources of electromagnetic pollution in our homes and taking steps to mitigate them. By doing so, we contribute to ensuring optimal well-being for our companions who cannot verbally express their discomfort. You can opt for our Ani’mom energetic collar, designed as the animal counterpart to our individual solutions, to help protect them on a daily basis. Here are Géraldine’s tips for choosing the collar, “I recommend the collar over the harness, and to choose the right size, you should be able to fit two fingers between the skin and the collar. Of course, the material is important, it should not pull the fur and should be strong enough.” That’s why we have chosen a collar handmade in an Alsatian workshop using biothane, a vegan material known for being unbreakable and tear-resistant. Beyond the collar, it is recommended to provide your animal with a fulfilling life in contact with nature and interactions with their peers. Our animals are our support and source of joy, it is our turn to ensure their well-being.
